As a lifelong Los Angeles Kings fan, seeing the Kings lift the Stanley Cup is always the dream every October. The 2012 Kings team went on one of the most improbable postseason run in North American professional sports history. The Kings secured the 8th seed in their final regular season and then went on to eliminate the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd teams in the Western Conference on route to the Stanley Cup Finals.
The Kings defeated the New Jersey Devils in six games to win the first Stanley Cup in franchise history. The 2012 Kings became the first 8th seed in North American professional sports to win a championship.
